Marchesa creative designer Georgina Chapman can do no wrong. I remember working at Neiman Marcus and playing dress up with my co-workers and the number one designer I would select to try on was the magical Marchesa gowns. Marchesa gowns are truly a delight. I have been on a mission to find out who made Rihanna's adorable sweatshirt dress with the brown leather shoulder detail. Rihanna wore this hot dress backstage at the FanJam event in Miami last week. And I am not surprised to find out that it is the young man who loves the 80's trend, Alexander Wang. The dress is from Mr. Wang's Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear Collection.

Naomi Campbell's Fashion for Relief

Naomi Campbell's Fashion for Relief, a charity fashion show and auction will have a fashion event on February the 12th during Fashion Week. Superstars will walk the runway to help save lives of mothers and babies in Haiti. The auction will be held in aid of CARE to raise crucial funds towards rebuilding Haiti's healthcare system for mother and children. In 2002, two best friends created the fashion line called Unaluna Inc. At first, Unaluna was a collection of beaded corsets and custom made evening gowns that was only sold in Miami. Today, Unaluna fashion line is amazing gowns, mini maxi dresses that I love and date tops that you can combine with your Seven jeans. HALSTON, BACK TO THE FUTURE

When I think of Halston, I think of the retro era where models who were chosen to display the fabulous garments were fierce and the clothes were phenomenal. I can think back to my mother dinner parties where she would dress as if she stepped out of a Halston look book. It was something about the layout of Halston's editorials. The editorials were constructed reflecting the brilliance of the photographer of that time, the model's makeup, the styling of the hair, and the background of the shoot, resonating the rawness of the 70's.

Mr. Zanini having been credited as a former Dontella's top assistant, I believe he can pull it off as being the main force for bringing back a familiar name and that elegance that Halston was known for, especially with the advisory team that consists of Tamara Mellon ( founder of Jimmy Choo), and Rachel Zoe (Celebrity Stylist).

Well, if what I believe is anything to live by, my feeling is that the new creative director by the name of Marco Zanini is the optimal candidate to re-brand the Halston line.
